The weather has taken a turn, and although it is wet and miserable, this has not stopped the teams across the club playing and training. We have had some great results all of which you can read by going to the match reports section of the website.
Some time ago, we mentioned that we were really struggling with numbers in some age groups, and it has been a real challenge to get new players to join. However, the teams were sent on a mission to recruit their peers from school. Predominantly the U12’s and U13’s! Our U12’s really were struggling with only eight players at the start of the season, and in a short space of time, we are now up to sixteen!
This is fantastic to see it really is, the boys have gone out, started playing at their respective schools and have shared their experiences of playing at the club. This has then seen new players come along, try some sessions, and then sign up! This not only allows the team to have some substitutes on game days, but it also brings lots of different skills to the team. We have been overwhelmed by the effort and desire to learn from all of these new players and it has had a massive moral boost for the rest of the team too. We will look to build a hard-hitting team! As a member of the club, you we can all help to recruit players, the more you talk about it, the more posts you share on social media, the more attraction we get, so please do keep spreading the word!
Fast approaching is the Christmas period, I know it seems to get earlier and earlier, but please keep your eyes open for our upcoming events being held at the club!
What do we have going on this weekend? The 1stXV will playing at home to Bishops Stortford Chindits, the U15’s will be having a rest after three tough games back to back, and the U13’s will be playing away to Watford on Sunday.
Our little Rugbeez will be training at the club along with our U12’s, U10’s and U9’s. Come rain or shine, we will play and train! So if your child wants to come along and join in, please do get in touch!
Remeber that this weekend also sees the Autumn Internationals kick off starting with Scotland playing Figi. So kick back and relax and support your favourite nation!
Enjoy the rest of the week, and we will update you with the results of this weekend’s games in due course!
